Press Release
Emmi joins the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment
Emmi has signed the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment, joining a network of more than 5,000 investors and service providers.
The PRI launched in 2006 with 100 founding signatories and around US$2 trillion behind them. Twenty years on, it counts more than 5,000 signatories representing over US$135 trillion.
Emmi has joined as a service provider and committed to supporting the investors who use our data.
"We spent time with the PRI team and came away with a clear sense of how much of this network runs on signatories helping each other," said Michael Lebbon, CEO of Emmi. "A lot of them are finding climate analysis hard going. We can help with that, and it is most of the reason we signed."
Emmi calculates financed emissions, transition risk and physical climate risk for financial institutions and corporates, across public and private asset classes. Results are expressed in financial terms, as Value at Risk and Average Annual Loss.
"Most climate analysis is used for reporting. We go beyond that, allowing investment committees to understand the financial exposure for allocation decisions," said Dr Ben McNeil, Co-Founder and Head Climate Scientist at Emmi.
